Mountain Stage to focus on Bristol's musical heritage in TV shows

BRISTOL, Tenn. – The Twin City’s musical heritage takes center stage in a new one-hour television show that premiers here next month."Bristol – Birthplace of Country Music," was produced by Mountain Stage, a division of West Virginia Public Broadcasting. The world premier is set for Aug. 18 at the Paramount Center for the Arts, one night before Mountain Stage returns to the Paramount to record Dierks Bentley . . . The show features Mountain Stage performances recorded here last summer. The show features performances by Ralph Stanley, Tim O'Brien, Roni Stoneman, Reagan Boggs and others, who also talk about the region's influence and the music recorded during the Bristol Sessions, Groce said . . . more >>

locally on WETS, FM 89.5, through WETS online stream and over 100

Reagan Boggs Band announces New Bassist

Our bassist and great friend Kevin Light resigned from the band last Tuesday. Kevin is a music instructor at various locations throughout the Tri-Cities including Music Doctors and Bays Mountain Music Academy. With his current student load, and our rigorous schedule of out-of-town shows, it had become very difficult to manage the time with us and fulfill his obligations to his students. We wish him the best.

As a replacement, we have enlisted Jim Price. Jim is a freelance sound Engineer, and engineered Reagan's 2003 release "I Can Handle Crazy," with the band Carbon Blue. We would like to welcome him aboard!

Back in the Studio
Reagan is back in the studio recording a new cd. This project in being recorded in Nashville at Eastwood Studio by Eric Fritsch who is engineer and producer. There will be feature appearances by Scott Miller of Scott Miller and the Commonwealth, Al Perkins of the Flying Burrito Brothers, and Stuart Duncan of the Nashville Bluegrass Band. It will also feature the outstanding musicianship of Eric Fritsch, Matt Crouse, and Park Chisolm. The cd is set to be released at the end of 2005/early 2006.
